STUDIO MANAGER

Location:
Kraków, Poland (Hybrid)

Reports to:
Founders

We are Nailed It! Games, a studio creating online slot games with 28 titles already published globally. We combine a solid product vision with technical excellence. Our Founders - Paweł Piotrowski and Grzegorz Przybyłowicz have built a talented team of 24 professionals.

THE MISSION:

We are looking for a Studio Manager to take ownership of the Studio's daily functioning. The Founders want to focus on their core strengths: strategy and technology, and they need a trusted partner to take the helm of our daily operations and people management to ensure the studio continues to run like a well-oiled machine.

Your goal is not just to manage, but to strengthen accountability and ensure timely delivery. We are looking for evolution, not revolution - someone who will respect our collaborative spirit while taking our processes to the next level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. People Management (Core Focus)

  • Take over direct line management for the studio (Art, Dev, QA - approx. 20 people). Conduct regular meetings, manage biannual reviews and development plans (in close cooperation with our People Partner)
  • Enforce accountability: Ensure the team maintains high standards regarding communication and work ethic. Empower the team to proactively identify solutions and optimise their workflows, strengthening ownership and a result-oriented mindset

2. Operations & Delivery Facilitation:

  • Clear the path for delivery by identifying friction points and listening to the needs of the team. You remove operational bottlenecks and provide feedback to ensure production runs smoothly
  • Manage the flow of ad hoc requests (live issues, market requirements, certifications), ensuring the main production schedule remains unaffected
  • Collaborate with Leads (Tech, QA and Art) to ensure quality standards are met (you ensure people deliver, Leads ensure what they deliver is up to par)
  • Monitor the "pulse" of the studio - identify bottlenecks, improve workflows and performance issues before they become critical
  • Participate in studio-wide rituals (Retrospectives, Roadmap meetings, etc.)

3. Strategic Planning & People Development:

  • Work closely with the People Partner on key people processes across the employee lifecycle (hiring, onboarding, performance, exits)
  • Support the Founders in strategic planning and operational improvements
  • Long-term improvements: Gradually audit cross-team workflows to build a scalable and sustainable production environment

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF:

  • You have 5+ years of experience in IT, Gamedev, or Software Development, including 3+ years in a people leadership role (Studio Manager, Delivery Manager, Head of Operations, or similar)
  • You understand the Software Development Life Cycle: You have experience not just in building products, but also in maintaining them (releases, updates, incident handling)
  • You are based in Kraków (or willing to relocate) - with the majority of our team being local, we look for a leader who values face-to-face collaboration within our hybrid setup
  • You have successfully implemented AI tools to optimise production workflows or daily studio operations
  • You understand the dynamics of working with both Creatives and Engineers - you know how to speak their language
  • You are an Executor. You don't just create plans; you make sure they work in practice, prioritising results over rigid theory
  • Languages: Fluent English and Polish are a must

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience in the iGaming/Casino industry

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Impact and autonomy: We have a working structure, but you will take full ownership of it, having the autonomy to fine-tune operations and drive performance
  • Career growth: An opportunity to step into a Managing Director/C-level position
  • Equipment of your choice to ensure your comfort
  • Private medical care and Multisport card/Multicafeteria (Worksmile) - fully on us!
  • Flexible schedule: We focus on results, not hours. We work in a flexible mode with core hours 10:00-15:00
  • Hybrid work mode: We value face-to-face collaboration but support hybrid work. Our office is located on Dekerta Street, Kraków
  • Team rituals: Wednesday breakfasts and celebrating every game release together!
  • Compensation package: base salary + ESOP plan granted after a successful 6-month probationary period

SUCCESS METRICS:

Month 3:

  • Effective working relationships established with the team
  • Onboarded with Studio workflow and domain specifics
  • Team goals reviewed on an ongoing basis

Month 6:

  • Gained a solid understanding of the end-to-end game production cycle and team dynamics
  • "Unscheduled Work" workflow defined and active
  • Delivery risks flagged early, preventing unexpected delays
  • Performance review cycle completed

Month 9:

  • Key friction points diagnosed and improvements implemented
  • Predictable and timely delivery cycles established
  • Operational escalations to Founders kept to a minimum

Month 12:

  • Annual product roadmap successfully executed
  • 2027/2028 roadmap delivery secured
  • Workflows enable the team to operate smoothly and efficiently

RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

  • Founders interview (~2h, on-site in our office)
  • Team interview (~1h, online)
  • Offer & terms discussion (~45 min, online)
